Brother TN330 Tape Trick - How to Pull It Off and Terminate Toner Low Prompts?

The Brother TN330 toner cartridge depends on its reset mechanism to deliver the allowable number of printed pages. Once the rated number of pages has been breached - 1,500 pages at 5% page coverage in the case of the Brother TN330, the reset gear automatically shuts down the printer. However, before toner is totally used-up, an optical sensor is programmed to deliver blinking lights on the control panel. This should alert the user of a low toner status and the need to replace the brother toner cartridge as soon as possible.

In most instances however, the amount of toner that lingers inside the cartridge's toner chamber (after the toner low lights are flashed) is still adequate for a few hundred prints. What actually happened in this case is that the optical sensor failed to provide the user with an accurate reading of residual toner supply. Remember that the sensor works by projecting a light beam through the brother toner cartridge window to connect to a photo-activated device across the cartridge. Once toner supply is depleted, the sensor activates and the low toner message is prompted.

Overriding the Toner Low Prompt. Toner is not liquid that seeks its own level, so toner supply could not be expected to be physically level all throughout. Some particles might be clumped on one side of the toner chamber while possibly empty on the other end that is near the optical sensor.

In that case, the user is advised to pull out the brother toner cartridge from the printer and moderately shake it to redistribute toner inside the cartridge evenly. This trick usually works, but it becomes inconvenient for the user to perform this process each time the low toner message is prompted. The brother tn330 tape trick should help resolve this inconvenience.

Carrying Out the Brother TN330 Tape Trick. The objective of the tape method is to put a constant barrier on the cartridge window that would prevent the light beam from activating the toner low sensor. So just how do you block the optical sensor's light beam and continue printing? The simple process is outlined below.

Pull out the brother toner cartridge from the laser printer and locate the circular clear window found on the side of the cartridge.

Cut a piece of black electrical tape and cover the cartridge window.

By covering the cartridge window, the light beam always touches base with the covered electrical tape and the printer will assume that the cartridge is still full of toner.

Printing can now commence until such time that print quality deteriorates, which is an indication that toner is finally used up and it is time to replace the cartridge with a compatible toner cartridge for brother-tn330 or refill the toner cartridge with toner refill kit. Also note not to wait for the reset gear to shut down the printer as cartridge damage is imminent should the latter totally run out of toner.

Remember that when the low toner blinking light is on, the user can override it completely to enjoy uninterrupted printing by simply carrying out the brother tn330 tape trick.

Today on this 2007 Toyota RAV4 we will be installing the wiring harness part number 118412. We are inside the rear cargo area of the RAV4. The ports that we are going to be plugging our wiring harness into are located behind the interior panels of the vehicle directly behind the tail lights. That is going to be the same on both sides of the vehicle. We are going to need to remove a few things to gain access to those ports. First off being the middle threshold piece because we are going to be routing wires from one side to the other. Lets go ahead and start uninstalling the interior of the vehicle. We will also need to remove the rear section of the interior panel, there are clips here that we are going to need to release to open that up, there are also a couple of screws. With the cargo door removed as well just look right back here again just right behind the tail light you can see the port that we are going to be plugging our harness into. We just want to disconnect those two pieces and we will plug our harness in line. 01:03

Just sticking together and then pulling apart two pieces of duct tape will cause them to produce a blue line of light in an effect called triboluminescence. The charges then attempt to recombine and collide with nearby molecules (of tape, glue, or air) exciting them and releasing light. Interestingly, in a vacuum there is no air to slow down the charges so they collide at full energy and release x-rays. This serves as the basis for the sticky-tape x-ray machine published in the journal Nature.
